Mark Shields (AKA The CAM COACH) a former multi award winning Barclays executive set up the Life Practice UK in 2005.

He is widely recognized as “The CAM Coach,” is a distinguished life and business strategist, acclaimed author, and master trainer in modern psychology. His career spans from high-level roles in the financial sector to pioneering contributions in coaching and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).

Early Career and Transition

Before entering the coaching arena, Mark held the position of Head of International Investments at Barclays Bank. In 2005, driven by a passion for personal development and transformative change, he founded the Life Practice Group. This organization encompasses multiple international training entities, including Life Practice UK Ltd, The NLP Coaching Company Ltd, and the Life Practice Coaching Academy.

Contributions to Coaching and NLP

Mark is the creator of the CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) Transformational Coaching methodology, an integrative approach that combines life, health, and mind coaching within a single framework. This methodology has been widely adopted, with the Life Practice Academy becoming one of the largest CAM Coaching Academies globally.

In 2008, Mark was recognized as a Master Trainer of NLP by the Mind Institute in Australia for his innovative advancements in the field. Since then, he has trained and mentored thousands of individuals worldwide, including world champion athletes, CEOs, government officials, and media personalities.

Authorship and Publications

Mark co-authored “The CAM Coach,” a best-selling book that serves as a comprehensive guide for practitioners in the complementary and alternative medicine industry. The book offers strategies and insights on establishing and running a successful practice. It has been integrated into the curricula of several universities and is considered a leading resource in the field.

Media Presence and Collaborations

Beyond writing, Mark has a significant media presence, appearing on television and radio as an NLP expert. In 2015, he collaborated with Professor Paul Dolan from the London School of Economics to launch the “Happiness by Design” wellbeing program, based on Dolan’s best-selling book. This initiative focused on enhancing workplace wellbeing.

Today, Mark continues to lead the Life Practice Group, offering a range of accredited coaching and psychology courses aimed at empowering individuals to effect meaningful change in their lives and the lives of others. His mission is to provide accessible, life-changing education to a global audience.
